Flying of Gas Turbine powered models at BMFA Buckminster is strictly controlled by the BMFA in accordance with local landowner arrangements. Prior notice of any Gas Turbine flying has to be given to persons in the local community well in advance.
Because of this local agreement it is not possible to just turn up with a Gas Turbine powered model and fly at Buckminster.
The Jet Modellers Association as the BMFA Specialist Body for Gas Turbine Flight has agreed to administer any Gas Turbine events on behalf of the National Centre and the BMFA.
In order for any BMFA members to have access to the site to fly their models, the JMA have agreed to not only allow non-JMA members to attend their private events as a guest of a JMA member (one event per year) but also to host open events for any BMFA member to attend provided they hold the BMFA B certificate of competency.
The first of these open events is scheduled for Tuesday / Wednesday 18th-19th April and BOOKING IS NOW OPEN.
Buckminster day rate applies, payable directly to the Buckminster Office on arrival. No advanced fees are taken.
Advanced registry is however required via the JMA Website homepage.
